Some pages from my sketchbook that I did a while back. Some facial poses and some animal studies.

2011 Reel

Some of my AM work is on my 2011 reel along with some of the shots I did while working at Imageworks. Feel free to check it out.

2011 Reel

Been a while...

I haven't posted anything on this blog in a while. The past few years have been a little hectic, but fun! I moved to Albuquerque NM to work at Sony Imageworks. I bought and renovated a foreclosed home in Sandia Park NM all while doing lots of overtime at work I don't know what I was thinking at the time, but we finished it in about a year. While in Albuquerque I worked on G-Force, Alice in Wonderland, Zoo Keeper, and Green Lantern. Sony decided not to do animation in Albuquerque anymore so we relocated to their Vancouver Canada office. Vancouver is the complete opposite of Albuquerque in many ways. We have only been here a couple months and are still getting adjusted. We miss the sunny days, dry climate, and the friends we made back in NM. We still have our house there and hope to one day return or at least use it as a vacation home. I now have plenty of free time so hopefully I can post some of my personal work.

Class 4 Hog Clip Facial Animation (wks1-3)

Weeks 1- 3 we worked on animating the facial animation for our character. Here is the rest of my progress on that shot and a final render. I also included my facial poses that we did based on photographs. It was a good way to get used to the facial controls on the Bishop rig.

Class 302

This week we learned more about pantomime, which is something I'm definitely into since I wanted to do my 2d short film all in pantomime. I don't mind animating in pantomime and would actually prefer it to doing tons of dialog shots. To me animation done in pantomime is animation in its purest form. Too many movies lately have been talking heads. I don't even remember what lame jokes those characters are saying half the time, but I still remember how sad Dumbo looked when his mother was locked up.
